Account Manager

About the Company:

Carbon8 is an interactive marketing agency headquartered in Denver, CO. Our capabilities include branding, marketing strategy, search marketing, website design, and product marketing services. Our clients range from Fortune 1000 to start-up firms. More information: www.carbon8.com

About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced and creative marketing professional with exceptional communication and project management skills. The Account Manager position reports to the VP of Accounts.

This position’s primary duty is to partner with clients and liaise with Carbon8's design, development and digital marketing teams to complete projects on time and with great results. Projects may include: branding, messaging, digital marketing, website development, videos and more.

This position requires a sincere, empathetic relationship with clients, and a deep interest in strategy and constant learning. Our job is to make our clients look great by creating marketing that works. Sometimes that means pushing a client to meet internal deadlines; sometimes it’s changing the agency’s vision for a project based on client needs; and sometimes it’s helping the client campaign for best practices with their own internal constituents. Wow clients with innovative ideas; work collaboratively with subject-matter experts (designers, programmers, digital advertisers, UX experts) who bring ideas to life; and evaluate ROI to ensure client goals are met.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 4+ years’ experience in an agency or project-based marketing environment
  • Track record of strong relationships with clients and agency team members alike
  • Creativity and the desire to learn and try new strategies
  • Self-starting, accountable, high-energy working style
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and to pivot to satisfy client needs
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills
  • Positive attitude and open mind

Compensation and Benefits:

This position pays a competitive salary, depending upon experience. Carbon8 offers health, dental, vision and life insurance. We also offer a company-sponsored 401(k) plan.

Carbon8 has a casual office environment and dress code, and excellent opportunities for career growth. Plus, you can walk to Little Man Ice Cream from the office and bring your dog to work!

How to Apply:

Send an email (no phone calls, please) to [email protected] including:

  • Your resume
  • A short note telling us why you would like to work at Carbon8

We are growing quickly and are looking for someone who can jump in and make an immediate impact serving clients, and who is obsessive about getting projects done the right way. If that sounds like you, please send us a note.

Web Producer

About the Company:

Carbon8 is a marketing agency headquartered in Denver, CO. Our capabilities include branding, marketing strategy, search marketing, website design and development, and product marketing services. Our clients range from Fortune 1000 to start-up firms. More information: www.carbon8.com

About the Position:

The Web Producer figures out what clients need, works with clients and our development team on the plan, and sees that plan through to completion. We need a nerd who can plan web development projects and keep them on track, dive into code when needed, and can talk to real live humans (and also developers). You need to understand the technology well enough to manage its creation and troubleshoot it if it doesn’t work. Here’s how the job breaks down:

  • Technical Project Planning (40% of job) – understand client needs, recommend the best solution for the task, brainstorm new options to meet project goals, write requirements documents for developers.
  • Project Management (40% of job) – internal and external project management, make sure the project is going smoothly on the development side and report on progress internally and to the client, verify everything works when it’s finished. Get it done right.
  • Fix Stuff (20% of job) – understand code, computers, servers, etc. Know enough to start troubleshooting issues so you can give developers a clear picture of the problem.
  • Flexibility (a billion % of job) – jump from one project to the next, knock out problems quickly as they pop up, fix the stuff that nobody else can figure out.

Here is more stuff we do and don’t do. This position is unique, so we want to give as much info as possible so you can see if it’s a fit for you:

  • We do web development. That includes stuff like:
  • .NET
  • PHP
  • JavaScript
  • Frontend code
  • SQL
  • CMS platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Kentico, etc.
  • APIs of all kinds
  • Apache
  • IIS
  • Server security best practices
  • Website hacking and how to prevent it
  • We don’t do full-stack application development. (If you want nothing but to build your own libraries and APIs, this is not for you.)
  • We optimize – site speed, UI, admin experience, SEO, etc.
  • We test – it’s not done until we’re sure it works everywhere.
  • We answer tons of questions – from account managers, from clients, from developers, from IT people. People-avoiders need not apply.
  • We experiment with the latest technologies, but we don’t jump from fad to fad. Stability, cross-browser reliability and long-term support are usually more valuable to our clients than some new tool that’s 0.0001 ms faster.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Meticulously detail oriented and organized
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and adjust to changes in client needs
  • A positive outlook on work and life. The IT stereotype is grumpy, to put it nicely. Don’t be that.
  • University degree preferred
  • Previous programming experience a bonus

Compensation and Benefits:

This position pays a competitive salary, depending upon experience. Carbon8 offers health, dental, vision and life insurance. We also offer a company-sponsored 401(k) plan.

Carbon8 has a casual office environment and dress code, and excellent opportunities for career growth. Plus, you can walk to Little Man Ice Cream from the office.

How to Apply:

Send an email (no phone calls, please) to [email protected] including:

  • Your resume
  • This is important: Tell us how you fix or create stuff. It can be an example from work, projects for fun, etc. We need someone who can take something they don’t understand and make it work. We come across new problems every day.
  • Any other work samples are a bonus

We are growing quickly and are looking for someone who can jump in and make an immediate impact to get things done. In short, we need a person we can trust with our clients, who loves marketing, and who is a bit obsessive about getting projects done the right way and on time. If that sounds like you, please send us a note.
