Mark Mitton - 9thWonder CMO and Carbon8 Founder

Mark Mitton brings his passion for creative, strategic branding and deep experience in digital marketing to 9thWonder clients (and employees!) Mark founded Carbon8 as a "digital first" agency built for an age where nearly all marketing ends up online.

Since its founding, Carbon8 grew quickly into an agency recognized for its branding and digital work that produces meaningful change and results for its clients. Mark has appeared on MSNBC's Business Makeover program and is a regular speaker on digital marketing and branding. Mark has led numerous monumental projects ranging from the branding of a new ski resort in Colorado to the revolutionary website Rocketbuilder.com.

Prior to starting Carbon8 in 2009, Mark was co-founder and partner at the Market Creation Group (MCG). He has also held positions leading branding, public relations, advertising, demand generation, market research and e-marketing programs at both large and startup technology companies, such as Level 3 Communications, SpectraLink, BTI, iWorlds and Diveo.

Mark has an MBA in international business from the University of South Carolina. Outside of the office, he serves as President of the Board for the Parkinson Association of the Rockies, speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and is a father of five. Mark enjoys climbing 14ers, loves to sing karaoke and has an unfulfilled dream to be a TV weatherman.

Jeff Robertson - Chief Technology Officer for 9thWonder

Jeff Robertson is a digital marketer and an online development expert with experience stretching back to dial-up.  He is partner and Chief Technology Officer at 9thWonder, where he helps bridge the gap between the technical and marketing worlds, as well as oversees technical infrastructure.

Jeff started his online career in the late 90s and became the lead programmer at Promit, Inc., where he designed specialty e-commerce solutions in .NET and SQL, developed Flash tools and managed hosting and email infrastructure. Afterward, Jeff was the online marketing manager at ACT Conferencing, a global teleconferencing company, where he was in charge of worldwide online strategy and online demand generation.

Jeff holds a degree in radio, television and film from the University of Texas and an MBA with a marketing focus from Texas A&M University.

He spends a lot of his free time snowmobiling, tinkering with machines and building small electronic systems, all with varying degrees of success. Jeff also enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and Marty McDog.

Lisa Hillmer-Poole - Managing Director, Denver Office

Lisa Hillmer-Poole brings more than 20 years of combined agency and in-house marketing experience. Lisa partners with Senior Agency Management, Account Managers and clients to strategize, develop and execute long-range branding, communications and digital marketing plans. Serving as liaison between her team and Development, Design, Search, and Senior Agency Management, Lisa plays a key role in developing the next generation of account management talent at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8).

Prior to Carbon8, Lisa was an Account Executive for the Denver-based ad agency, The Envision Group, servicing dozens of B2B and B2C clients in the healthcare, construction, technology, energy, finance and hospitality industries. Before entering the marketing field, Lisa worked as a photographer, shooting international architecture projects, teaching classes and serving as the in-house photographer for Sports Authority.

Lisa graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BFA in photography. When she’s not attending to client needs, Lisa enjoys cooking, snowboarding and playing and recording music with her husband and two children. She also still loves to shoot creative portraits, architecture and the natural world.

Duy Do - Director of Online Development

Duy Do is the Director of Online Development for 9thWonder. Duy leads the Vietnam team and works closely with Jeff to bridge the gap between the U.S. and Vietnam teams. Duy has over eight years of experience leading development teams and is an expert in Flash development and rich Internet applications (RIAs).

When Duy is not at his computer, he enjoys the fresh air and walking along the beach with his beloved wife. He also takes trips on the ocean, fishing and diving with his friends.

Julie Carver - Creative Director

Julie Carver, Creative Director at 9thWonder, brings an expansive background of brand and digital experience development for both B2B and B2C clients such as Revlon, Westin, Hershey's, Elizabeth Arden, Maybelline, Saks, P&G, NBA and Ping Identity.

Throughout her career she’s had the opportunity to work within many facets of design covering digital marketing, UX/UI, brand development, packaging as well as environmental design. This knowledge has allowed her to lead teams to identify and solve business problems through a large-scale lens, focusing on the bigger concept and visually communicating it seamlessly through each design execution. During her free time, you can find Julie biking or hiking the many beautiful trails in Colorado, practicing yoga, dropping in on open figure drawing classes and mentoring students at BDW and experimental design lab affiliated with the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Shay Ruggles - Director of UX

Shay Ruggles is the Director of UX at 9thWonder who ensures we are creating compelling experiences that balance user intent, clients’ business needs and site performance. A former Account Manager, Video Producer and Carbon8’s first employee, Shay leveraged her years of experience, education and research to transition to the creative team of Carbon8 in 2012.

Prior to joining Carbon8, Shay worked for The Market Creation Group as a Marketing Coordinator. Shay spearheaded the company’s monthly First Friday event at their studio office in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe, as well as organizing the first Denver Heart Walk team for local B2B marketers, Heart Engine Optimization. Before entering the field of marketing, Shay worked in outdoor education for Outward Bound and led trips for the Boy Scouts of America in the Florida Keys.

Shay graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business before moving to Colorado. When she is not marketing, Shay enjoys cooking new foods, exploring new places and loving life with her husband and two dogs, Bear and Maisie.

Robbie Hill - Lead Technical Project Manager

When not spelunking into murky technical issues, Robbie creates surprisingly-delightful experiences!

A Utah-transplant, Robbie has spent the better part of two decades developing applications for a broad array of industries, including academia, healthcare, legal, and sales. His natural curiosity and commitment to insightful solutions discovers opportunities; his primary motivation is seeing client's joy in delivered services that exceed expectations.

Outside of the agency, Robbie enjoys tinkering with micro-platforms and micro-brews. He enjoys discovering the magic and adventure of the outdoors, and injecting that into the lives of his two sons.

Brittany Hard - Account Manager

Brittany is an account manager with over seven years of marketing experience. Her background includes project management and brand strategy.

Prior to joining 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), Brittany was a Digital Project Manager for the Denver based branding agency, Monigle, serving such brands as Conoco Phillips, BNY Mellon, Carnival Cruise Lines and MD Anderson.

Brittany graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. When she’s not at work, she enjoys skiing and spending time in California's wine country.

Chau Cao - Lead Development Project Manager

Chau Cao is the Lead Development Project Manager for 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8). Chau is responsible for gathering technical requirements, as well as managing and reviewing all development work. Chau has over seven years of experience in software development/web development technologies, including e-commerce, 3D and VR applications. Before joining Carbon8, Chau worked as a project lead for development work with the Vietnamese government.

Chau love discovering new technologies, especially front-end and CMS. He has a Sitecore Developer Certificate.

Chau graduated from the Software Engineering Department of Hanoi University of Technology. In his free time, Chau enjoys swimming and the beautiful beaches of Nha Trang, which are a tempting five-minute walk from the Carbon8 offices. His inspiration is found in coffee shops, where he dreams up new ideas for Carbon8.

Alison Westcott - Account Supervisor

Alison is an Account Supervisor with ten years of marketing and public relations experience. Her specialties include brand strategy, online communications and event planning.

Prior to 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), Alison led several account teams and award-winning projects at creative agencies in Denver, Milwaukee and St. Louis. To date, she has had opportunity to collaborate with brands such as Harley-Davidson Motor Co., Hunter Fan Co. and Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park.

Alison holds a B.A. in Journalism from Creighton University and a M.B.A. from Webster University. In her free time, you will find her exploring all the hiking trails Colorado has to offer, buried in the latest New York Times bestseller, or catching a game during football season.

Thomas Bolte - Senior Designer

As a senior designer, I constantly strive for originality and the chance to stand out from the crowd. To do so, means constantly learning, being experimental, and even pulling a few all-nighters. But most importantly, being unique. I hope my passion for what I do becomes infectious to the people I interact with and that I can bring to the team a love for design and a real passion for the potential we have to produce top quality work and make an impact in our industry.

Phuoc Huynh - Lead Web Developer

Phuoc Huynh is a Lead Web Developer for 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8). He is responsible for training the development team on new technologies. Phuoc has a great knowledge of computer science and learns new technologies quickly. He also has strong web development skills in presentation scriptwriting – for example, Captivate, PowerPoint and Flash presentations, as well as PHP.

A fun fact about Phuoc’s name is that translated into English, Phuoc means “lucky.” Phuoc enjoys spending time with his smart little nieces and nephews. He is an avid badminton and football player, but his favorite thing to do is watch movies. Phuoc studied IT at Nha Trang University.

Matt O'Connell - Digital Marketing Manager

Matt is a Digital Marketing Manager at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), with a wide range of experience in SEO, PPC, Content and Social Marketing as well as direct sales. He has worked in a variety of business development roles in multiple industries across the United States and Latin America and he loves finding innovative ways to improve his clients' search marketing performance.

Matt holds a degree in Geography from the University of Maryland and is passionate about language and culture. He spent three years living and working in Buenos Aires prior to joining Carbon8.

A transplant to the Denver area, Matt originally hails from Maryland and is a diehard Redskins football and Maryland Terrapins basketball fan. When he's not toiling away in the office, Matt can be found carving up the Rockies on his snowboard.

Duc Huynh - Development Project Manager

Duc is Development Project Manager at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), who is managing the development work. He has been in the industry 5 years. With the love of programing, he has the ability to code in many languages. He has a great knowledge of PHP, CSS, JS Frameworks and content management systems such as Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress ...

He graduated from Nha Trang University. When he's not at work he enjoy going out with his friends or spending time with his family. His favourite food is seafood and luckily it is easy to find a place with cheap and delicious seafood in his hometown.

Katie Phillips - Front End Developer

Katie Phillips is a Frontend Developer at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8). In between coding websites, you can find her working to find a cost effective, creative solution to whatever clients dream up.

Prior to 9thWonder, Katie has worked as the development team at a Denver design agency. She has worked on projects from nationwide buying groups for office supplies to small startups across the country.

Katie graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Graphic Design and minors in French and Interactive Web Design. Even though she started out as a web designer, Katie quickly found a passion in building them as well. In her spare time, you can find Katie reading a book, skiing in Winter Park, or diving down to a shipwreck in the Caribbean.

Rob Shearer - Videographer and Editor

Rob Shearer is a Videographer and Editor at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8). With a passion for telling stories, he is constantly finding ways to translate a client’s product or brand into an engaging and compelling story.

Rob conceptualizes, shoots, and edits projects from start to final delivery. A regular Renaissance man in the world of modern video production.

Prior to joining Carbon8, Rob worked in advertising, television, and narrative and documentary filmmaking. His previous clients include Weber Grills, Einstein Bros Bagels, Bonfils Blood Center, and Colorado PBS. His work has been screened at the Denver Film Festival, the Big Bear Lake Film Festival, and the Marche du Film at the Cannes Film Festival. His documentary series “Denizen” is shown regularly on Colorado PBS.

Rob graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a dual degree in Film & Theater Production, and English.

Jon Snyder - Senior Copywriter

Jon is a Senior Copywriter at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), who believes that the never-ending opportunity to learn and bring new ideas to effective messaging are what makes his profession rewarding. He’s fascinated by technologies and the arts, and finding the intersection between the two.

Prior to joining 9thWonder, Jon held a variety of content creation-related positions in enterprises and agencies focused on telecommunications, process control, data analysis and visualization software, new product development and commercialization, and manufacturing. As a freelance writer, he’s worked with an eclectic mix of companies, from those exploring artificial intelligence and natural language processing, data archiving, datacenters and new energy research to golf and music recording.

When he’s not behind the keyboard, Jon loves to fish, play golf, play music and share life with his family.

Andrew Burkhart - Web Producer

Andrew is a Web Producer at 9thWonder, (formerly Carbon8), with a background in Full-Stack Web Development and UI Design.

Prior to joining 9thWonder, Andrew was a Senior Developer for a marketing agency in California working on WordPress and Magento sites.

A native of Portland, OR, Andrew spent many years in Southern California before finding his way to Denver. While not at work, Andrew can generally be found playing soccer, brewing beer, cooking or watching movies. It’s also very likely he will be quoting those movies.

Matt Hofmockel - Web Producer

Matt Hofmockel is a Web Producer at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8). He is mildly obsessed with making things more efficient and ensuring a top notch user experience in digital products.

Prior to 9thWonder, Matt worked in the print industry creating automation workflows that enabled increased productivity and reduced errors in production.

Matt graduated from MSU Denver with a degree in Communication Design. He comes from a long line of engineers and that mindset drives an inquisitive nature that wants to know how things work and how they could be better. Outside of work, you can find Matt and his family at a local brewery, enjoying all that Colorado has to offer, or possibly on a cruise somewhere warm and sunny.

Alli Sims - Designer

Prior to 9thWonder (formlerly Carbon8), Alli worked as a designer for Vail Resorts and as a digital/UX designer for an agency in Salt Lake City. She has experience working with large national clients as well as small local businesses and enjoy helping them solve problems with functional, aesthetic design.

Alli was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she went to school at the University of Cincinnati. Through their co-op program Alli have had the opportunity to work and live in several cities across the U.S. She is also an unfortunate die hard Cincinnati sports fan.

Much of her spare time is spent in the mountains on her snowboard, running, or playing soccer. Alli loves her 2 dogs, her jeep, and her husband. Sometimes in that order :)

Samantha Osborne - Account Manager

Prior to 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), Samantha worked as Creative Manager at a Health IT company based in Michigan. She has experience working in residential/commercial real estate, non-profit, healthcare, franchises, aviation and IT.

Samantha was born and raised in Michigan where she attended Baker College. While obtaining her BA in Business Administration, she discovered her hunger for business and creative marketing. She is passionate about helping both small and large businesses share their story with the world in an authentic way.

Much of her spare time is spent with her husband and pup exploring new restaurants in Denver, offroading in the mountains, hiking, snowboarding or sailing.

Carlton Bonilla - Director of Strategy and Business Development

Carlton Bonilla is 9thWonder’s Director of Strategy and Business Development. With over 20 years of experience in marketing, client relations and sales, Carlton brings a strong desire and the insights to help our clients thrive, having worked in senior roles on both the client and agency side of the equation. He’s been fortunate to work with companies ranging from Fortune 500s to start-ups, in a wide array of industries including tech and telecom, SaaS, clean energy, outdoor retail and more.

Prior to working at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), Carlton had his own firm, helping companies build new communities, influence their audiences and accelerate growth. When not working, you’ll find Carlton exploring the deepest and most remote regions of the Rocky Mountain West with his intrepid sidekick, his daughter, and publishing articles on their adventures in outdoor-oriented magazines.

Margaret Head - Account Manager

Margaret is an Account Manager at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8), with five years of marketing experience including project management, brand strategy and account management.

Prior to 9thWonder, Margaret worked for marketing agencies in both Denver and Chicago with clients including AT&T, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Fox Sports College Properties and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Born and raised in Evanston, IL, she graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing. Margaret enjoys playing soccer, hiking up peaks and petting every dog at Wash Park.

Rachel Binagia - Graphic Designer

As a Texas native, Rachel gained design experience from three different agencies in Houston, before moving to Denver and joining the 9thWonder team.

Her toolbox consists of experimentation and play as she strives to discover new ways to solve design problems. Seeing ideas turn into finished, tangible creations, is her most rewarding part of being a designer.

She’s an avid soccer player, casual hiker/camper and aspirational snowboarder looking forward to the day she can slowly connect S-turns down a mountain.

Leslie Daly - Account Manager

Leslie is an Account Manager at 9thWonder (formerly Carbon8) with five years of marketing experience including project management, brand strategy and account service.

Prior to 9thWonder, Leslie worked for a digital marketing agency in Louisville, Kentucky. There, she was responsible for managing cross-functional teams on integrated campaigns for clients across a wide range of industries. Having managed dozens of web development projects, she appreciates and advocates for good design UX.

Born and raised in the Bluegrass State, Leslie attended the University of Kentucky obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Account Management. Leslie is also a certified yoga instructor and enjoys the vast array of outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer.

Carly Oseran - Digital Marketing Coordinator

Carly has a rare hybrid role at 9thWonder, working on SEO and paid search projects with our digital team half of the time while the other half of her time is spent working as 9thWonder's internal marketing coordinator.

Carly graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in journalism and minor in digital communication. She is a Tucson, Arizona native who loves the desert heat, but moved to Denver for a change of scenery and weather.

Outside of the office, Carly loves live music, classic films, exploring new restaurants and enjoying the outdoors!

William Thompson - Digital Marketing Specialist

William generates revenue and brand awareness for clients through online marketing strategies like SEO, paid search and display.

William has worked at multiple agencies before, but 9thWonder is his favorite, as he is allowed to take amore holistic approach to serving clients.

William enjoys open-ended philosophical questions, soulful music, mountains, camping, and photography.

Matt Weaver - Account Services Intern

Matt supports the Account team and internal marketing team by liasing with clients, proofreading, QA, research and project management. He partners with the digital team on events and trade show appearances, as well as 9thWonder marketing initiatives.

Matt previously worked for the Atlanta Braves and the U.S. Olympic Speedskating team and holds a Bachelor of Marketing from the University of Colorado.

A rare Colorado native, Matt was born in Highlands Ranch and is a huge fan of sports, fitness and movies.

Natalia Marrero - Administrative Assistant

Natalia is the first smiling face that clients see when they walk in the door at 9thWonder. In addition to reception, storeroom stocking, and scheduling, Natalia keeps the office looking fresh, keeps track of expenses and makes sure the beer fridge is never empty.

She has worked in adminstrative roles in other industries performing document imaging and records management duties.

When she is not welcoming our clients, you can find Natalia screen-printing, thrift shopping and visiting museums and gardens.
