Carbon8 is Firkin Great! (VIDEO)

BY KATHERINE ROBERTS

We recently made a fun video with our friends at Dry Dock Brewing Co. and now we’re giving you a sneak peek inside our partnership and the reasons that your existing event is the perfect opportunity to add video!

There are big benefits to recording events you already have on the schedule. We know you’re trying to get more video content out the door at your organization… so today let’s talk testimonials.

We loved the video created from our event; go ahead and watch it below. Once you’ve finished your popcorn and applauded our cinematic feat, I’m going to give you a few more details about what I call “The Sneaky Testimonial.”

You see, testimonial videos don’t have to be a talking head CEO of your client’s company in front of a cubicle farm. Think of these in different ways! How can you showcase your client while getting in a few compliments for yourself?

For example, you’ll notice our video starts out by describing what a “firkin” is. Did YOU know what a firkin was? I certainly didn't before we met the folks at Dry Dock. Putting this information at the top of the video now gives us the potential to teach the audience something new; it also doesn’t immediately reveal its purpose. The viewer won’t immediately think “Oh, jeez, here comes another sales pitch.”

We also got a couple of interviews both from the client side and the Carbon8 side. Another tip? Soundbites don’t ALL have to be from the client or Account Manager on the project! Throw a Designer in there! Our Senior Designer Gabby did a great job describing the creative process for our website design with Dry Dock. To complement her descriptions, we showed b-roll of her cool drawings and concepts, along with website screen shots. This reinforced the amount of work we put into the project.

Finally, and most importantly, we had a great time. You can see us all in the video just being ourselves, and even getting the client to joke around. “Serious” doesn’t always mean “most effective.” Show off your personalities! We promise it will get you the attention you deserve!

Have fun with your next video production project and let’s start something together.
