Branding for Stagecoach Mountain

When Stagecoach Mountain, a private ski area for more than 30 years, was sold to developers in 2017, Carbon8 was chomping at the bit to help position and brand the new resort. The buyers needed to raise capital to build out their dream, and required an identity and approach that would both stand out and reflect the valley's genuine western heritage.

Carbon8 performed extensive research on competitors in Colorado and across the country to establish compelling differentiators, and language that would resonate with a discerning and marketing-weary audience. In order to create an authentic but modern feel, our design team explored several contemporary aesthetics with subtle nods to the area's past, and an alignment with the mountain's primary season, winter. The resulting brand visuals were inspired by detailed objects from the same time period as the stagecoach itself: decorative leather stitching, boot spurs, wagon wheels, branding irons, etc.

The final deliverables included an entire family of assets to help bring the new ski resort to life. Armed with a fresh identity, talking points and sales enablement tools, the new owners were successful in their most recent round of funding, and a new website, along with other collateral materials are currently in the works.
